Adult ADHD Assessments

An ADHD assessment can help you better understand your experiences, explore whether ADHD may be contributing to these challenges, and identify practical strategies that work with your individual strengths and needs. At Internal Compass Psychology, the aim is not simply to identify whether ADHD may be present. It is to help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself and find ways to make the most of your life.

What does an ADHD assessment involve?
The assessment is a structured process designed to explore your experiences, developmental history and current functioning.

1. Screening questionnaires
You will complete screening questionnaires through NovoPsych before your appointments. These provide an initial overview of your experiences and help guide the assessment.

2. Clinical interview — 60 minutes
We will explore your current concerns, personal and developmental history, and how difficulties with attention, organisation, impulsivity or activity levels may affect your everyday life.

3. ADHD diagnostic interview (DIVA) — 60 minutes
The Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults (DIVA) is a structured interview exploring ADHD symptoms, including how they may have presented during childhood and adulthood, and their impact on daily functioning.

4. Feedback session, comprehensive report and recommendations

Following the assessment, you will have a feedback session and then receive a written report outlining the assessment findings, diagnostic considerations, relevant differential diagnoses and personalised recommendations. Recommendations may include practical strategies, psychological support, and referrals or further assessment where appropriate.

Assessment fee:
$1,585 — Comprehensive ADHD assessment

The fee includes screening questionnaires, a 60-minute clinical interview, a 60-minute DIVA diagnostic interview, feedback session, a written assessment report, consideration of differential diagnoses, and personalised recommendations.

Whether or not you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD, the assessment is an opportunity to better understand your experiences, recognise your strengths, and identify meaningful ways forward.
